Budget = gutter run × installed quote + separately quoted downspouts, corners, guards, removal and project extras; stock = equal runs × ceil(length per run ÷ stock length)

How do you estimate gutter installation cost?

Measure the actual gutter runs and obtain comparable installed quote ranges per foot or meter. Add downspouts, corners, guards, removal and access only if they are priced separately. The result is based on the entered scope and currency; no market-rate preset is assumed.

Which length should you use for the gutter quote?

Use horizontal installed gutter run, excluding downspout drops and roof edges without gutters. Dimension units and quote units are independent. A length measured in meters can still use a per-foot quote after conversion, provided the selected quote basis matches the contractor rate.

How are separately quoted downspouts and corners added?

Enter count and unit quote together for each accessory. Counts must be whole. A downspout unit quote should describe its actual included fittings, height and installation; do not add it if already bundled into the gutter quote. Corner rates likewise apply only to separately charged corners.

Calculation equation

Budget = gutter run × installed quote + separately quoted downspouts, corners, guards, removal and project extras; stock = equal runs × ceil(length per run ÷ stock length)

What does a one-hundred-foot gutter example cost?

At entered installed quotes of 8–12 per ft, 100 ft has a base range of 800–1,200. Four separately priced downspouts at 100 each add 400. The subtotal is 1,200–1,600 before guards, removal, access, tax or contingency. These example rates do not describe a local market average.

How are guards and old gutter removal priced?

The guard and removal fields use the selected per-run quote unit. They apply to the whole entered gutter length. If guards or removal cover only part of the route, use separate worksheets or a scoped total quote in the appropriate project extras; do not apply a full-run rate to a partial-run scope.

When does the stock-section estimate apply?

Optional stock mode assumes equal-length straight runs whose combined length is the measured total. Each run is rounded up independently to full stock lengths, without cross-run offcut reuse. Seamless fabrication or unequal runs should use the quote-only mode or separate takeoffs.

Does this choose gutter size or downspout locations?

No. Budget arithmetic does not calculate drainage capacity, rainfall intensity, roof tributary area or outlet spacing. Material selection, slope, support spacing and drainage layout need their own project checks. The optional tax and contingency percentages apply to the combined entered subtotal.

Which input units and assumptions should you check?

Use the labeled units and measured project values. Optional fields remain blank unless their data are available; paired fields must be entered together. Installed quote arithmetic, not drainage design. Count only separately priced accessories; gutter size, outlet locations and roof-drainage capacity require project-specific checks.

How can you compare and save different scenarios?

Calculate and save a baseline to comparison, change one input and calculate again. Review the itemized results before transferring values. Copy or share the result, download the input and result sheet, or print the worksheet. Clear changes removes the current inputs and results, and refresh starts clean.

Use Roof Replacement Calculator and Roofing Calculator. Check that the measurement units and scope match before using a result as an input elsewhere.

What are your gutter installation cost inputs?

Installed quote arithmetic, not drainage design. Count only separately priced accessories; gutter size, outlet locations and roof-drainage capacity require project-specific checks.
