Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Qtywise handles information when you use our calculators, read our content, give feedback or contact us. For privacy questions, email info@qtywise.com.
Who operates this website?
Qtywise is a website for project calculators, measurement tools and practical explanations. This policy covers Qtywise’s website features. External websites and services linked from Qtywise have their own privacy policies.
What happens to calculator inputs?
Our current calculators perform calculations in your browser. The calculator code does not send your dimensions, material quantities or prices to Qtywise for calculation. Editable input fields start blank.
Using a sharing button can send the selected calculation information to an app or service you choose. A copied link may contain calculation information where a tool supports sharing inputs through its URL. Check what you are sharing before sending it to another person.
Downloaded worksheets are saved to your device. Printing uses your browser and printer settings. These actions do not submit a worksheet to Qtywise.
What information do you provide directly?
If you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and any attachments you send. We use this information to respond, investigate reported issues and follow up on your request. Avoid sending passwords, payment details or other sensitive information.
Where comments are enabled, the information you submit may include your name, email address, comment and optional website address. Approved comments and your display name can appear publicly; your email address is not displayed as part of the comment. The current hosted preview does not accept comments.
What browser storage does the site use?
Some features use local storage to remember unit preferences or whether you selected Yes or No in a helpfulness question. This storage belongs to the browser and device you use. Clearing site data removes those saved preferences and feedback markers.
Where the WordPress voting service is enabled, it uses a cookie called qtywise_reader to recognize repeat votes. That cookie can remain for up to one year. The service stores a derived voter identifier, the page identifier and the vote so it can calculate totals and limit repeated voting. Signed-in votes may be associated with an identifier derived from the WordPress user account.
Hosting and WordPress features may also use cookies for access, login or security. You can manage cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Blocking them may affect some features.
What information can hosting services process?
When you request a web page, the hosting infrastructure receives technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time. Hosting providers may process this information to deliver pages, maintain security and diagnose errors. Provider-controlled logs follow that provider’s retention settings.
How do advertising and external services work?
The current Qtywise page code includes spaces for advertisements; an empty advertising space does not itself load an advertisement. If an advertising service is activated, its scripts can process information such as IP addresses, device information and cookie identifiers. The privacy information and any required consent controls must be updated for the service actually enabled.
Clicking an external source, social sharing link or Google preferred-source link takes you to another service. That service handles your information under its own policy. Embedded Qtywise calculators request content from Qtywise’s hosting infrastructure even when displayed on another website.
Why is information used?
- To deliver the website and its requested features.
- To answer messages and investigate calculation or content issues.
- To remember preferences and manage feedback where those features are enabled.
- To protect the website and prevent misuse.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, the applicable basis depends on the activity, such as handling your request, legitimate interests in operating and securing the site, legal obligations, or consent for activities that require it.
Who can receive information?
Information may be handled by service providers involved in hosting the website, delivering email or supporting an enabled feature. Information can also be disclosed when legally required or needed to address fraud, security incidents or misuse. Approved public comments are visible to other visitors.
Providers may process information in countries other than yours. The protections and transfer arrangements depend on the provider and applicable law. Contact us if you need information about a specific feature or request.
How long is information kept?
Browser preferences and local feedback markers remain until you clear them or the browser removes them. The WordPress reader cookie expires after up to one year, although deleting the cookie does not automatically delete an existing server-side vote.
Messages, published comments and server-side feedback are retained for as long as needed to handle the request, operate the relevant feature, resolve disputes or meet applicable obligations. Contact us to ask about deletion of information associated with you. Hosting and email provider retention may differ.
What choices and rights do you have?
You can avoid submitting optional information, clear browser storage and choose whether to share a result. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, obtain a copy of certain data, or withdraw consent.
Send a request to info@qtywise.com. Tell us which page or interaction your request concerns. We may need proportionate information to verify that a request relates to you. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
How should children use the site?
Qtywise’s project tools are intended for a general audience. Children should avoid submitting personal information in messages or public comments. If you believe a child has supplied personal information that should be removed, contact us with the relevant details.
How is this policy updated?
We will update this page when website features or information-handling practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
